METALLIC SHATTERED GLASS

Hello everyone, welcome again! Hope your week is going great so far.

I would be taking you through some of the nails i do for my clients and what I eventually come up with.

I always tell people that I do not have a favourite colour just because I believe all colours are beautiful and I wear them according to my mood lol.

This polish is called Copper Mine and its from the Molten Metals collection from Barry W. It has a chrome effect with a mirror-shine foil finish. I particularly love this metallic polish because it looks very “grainy” like if you tap it particles of crushed metal would actually fall off! lol that what it looks like when you actually look closely at the bottle or at least that’s what i have in mind head (don’t judge my imaginations lol). Anyway, the illusion of the metallic chrome effect was well captured in this one, I will recommend that every nail polish lover try this.

I always do two coats of any polish i am working with whether pigmented or not because it helps the polish last longer and gives the nail full coverage and then one good layer of topcoat.

I decided to attach an old picture of my client’s nails when she came for her first appointment, because of her profession she didn’t want extensions but also wanted nice nails so i suggested a simple gel manicure as it lasts longer than regular polish, i must say doing a gel manicure on extremely short nails can be a STRUGGLE! lol i had to put that in capital letter because trying to prevent gel from running into the cuticle and the side walls is almost impossible… Anyway we did gel manicure twice after this picture and soon enough her nails had started growing very strong and nice. I also did henna on her fingers.

I recommended that she got an acrylic overlay to protect the length of the nails and here she has just come in for a refill after about 5weeks. I will be doing a blog post on the different nail systems for nails and their dos’ and don’ts soon.

Here i just finished with the cuticle work and refilling ready for polish, so glad we were able to agree on this polish, I’m sure you can tell I love this metallic polish right?

We decided to do a nice nail art on the ring finger to give it some extra jazz and this particular design I really like because it reminds me of a few things, like i said before every nail art tells a story, has a reference or an interpretation. This has two references for me, I’m sure from the title you already have an idea, yes shattered glass, when a glass breaks you can’t tell what shape it would form or how many pieces you are going to have so this nail art depicts that for me. The other interesting one is the tinted glass that is normally used on the walls of Anglican or Catholic churches’ altar that reflects different colours when under direct sunlight always so beautiful and colourful.  Quite exciting isn’t it?

Here is the final look, i hope you like it.
